Many members are long time garment makers, traditional quilters or textile artists. We have a wide range of interests and enjoy sharing these many different concepts with each other. Our service project consists of making lap quilts for injured servicemen at the Wade Park VA hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Director of this project, Kathleen Eckels, reports that we have sent 250 quilts to the hospital with our faithful courier and former Malvern Legion post adjutant, Tom Burkhart, who delivers these quilts to the women's auxilliary at the hospital for distribution. We work along with this auxilliary to make toiletry bags and have sent fabric postcards on special occasions. Our group meets one evening and one Saturday each month. Dues are $10.00 per year and we welcome anyone whose interests might be in sewing, knitting, felting or any of the many fabric related crafts available no matter what their ability level. To learn more about specific times, dates, programs etc. please contact Barbara Cascioli at 863-2636 (evenings) or service project coordinator, Kathleen Eckels at 863-0002. Mrs. Eckels would also graciously accept any donations for our service project mailed to 356 East Mohawk Drive, Malvern, Ohio 44644. Red Hat Chapter, Lake Mohawk, 17025
